Our very own gin

We have taken a trip to Notting Hill, to the home of our favourite gin, the Portobello Road Ginstitute, on Portobello Road funnily enough. Their mission was to make our own gin, one completely unique to Launceston Place, reflecting our team’s favourite flavours, which would make both a magnificent Martini and a glorious G&T.

We spent the day learning about the history of gin, then tinkering with various botanicals — Yorkshire Tea and asparagus (separately, not as one!) sadly not making the cut. Then after the event there came the great pine debate, with samples being foraged in Yorkshire before being distilled in London and blended into the gin, before the final version was selected.

LP Gin is now available exclusively at Launceston Place, and contains (drumroll, please): juniper berries, coriander seeds, angelica root, orris root, lemon peel, cassia bark, liquorice root, lapsang souchong tea, nutmeg and bergamot.
