Marcello Neri is Head Sommelier of Launceston Place

Marcello takes over the Head sommelier position after working with Nicola Perrone for the last year. Previously of Le Pont de La Tour, where he worked with our General Manager Ian, and Restaurant Macellaio. He has expanded the wine list at Launceston Place to not only include a strong selection of the classic and prominent wine regions from around the world, including First Growth Bordeaux’s, but also some smaller and more obscure wine producing areas too.

One of Marcello’s signatures is creating fun and innovative wine pairings to accompany the Chef’s tasting menu. Chef Ben and he work closely together when considering the right pairing, before briefing the entire team. He can adapt the pairings to fit vegetarian and other dietary needs as he goes, or can pick the right glass or bottle for your meal if you want to choose from the 250 plus selections on Launceston’s list.
