Meet head chef Tim Allen

head chef lp march v2

Tim Allen joined Launceston Place in February 2012, after spending seven successful years at two Michelin-starred Whatley Manor in the Cotswolds. Before this he also worked in the kitchens at The Landmark and L’Ortolan, two renowned London restaurants.

Taking inspiration from the chefs he has worked with, names such as Martin Burge and John Burton Race, as well as his Yorkshire roots Tim has created a set of truly exceptional dishes forLaunceston Place’s organically British menu.

Growing up in Yorkshire, Tim was a keen gardener from a young age and uses his knowledge of home-grown produce such as peas and raspberries to create dishes such as Early English Rasperry Souffle and New Season English Lamb with fresh peas and broad beans. He is also keen to promote lesser known cooking techniques such as using a pressure cooker, which he explains gives cleaner flavours by using a less aggressive method.

His unquestionable skill, passion and emphasis on sourcing simple produce will no doubt ensure that Tim Allen carries Launceston Place from strength to strength.
